In the Newbold Tyres Premier Division Elton and Walshaw claimed a stunning 6-3 victory against Manchester Brick Specialist, which sees them move out of the bottom two.

Elsewhere Middleton Town were rampant with a 6-1 win over Coppice United as they moved into third place, eight points behind the league leaders Wardle.

A Ryan Leons hat-trick amidst goals from Danny Goodier, Daniel Dearden and Joel Bestley helped Middleton to their fifth win of the season. Town’s manager Chris Petcu commented: “It’s a great start to our 2018 campaign, Ryan Leons, our hat-trick hero made ends meat of Coppice and punished them with a spectacular performance!”

Meanwhile Wardle managed to maintain the gap with a 2-1 win over Highfield, in what was a close and hard-fought encounter.

Rochdalians’ 3-2 win against Old Loom kept the pressure on Middleton Town as the sides remained level on points.
