Droylsden 1-3 Scarborough

Two late second half goals from James Walshaw settled this tie after the home team had led for three quarters of the game through a Luke Daly strike early in the first half.

The Bloods made three changes after the 0-0 draw at Mossley, Ben Barber and Ciaran Kilheeney returning while Domaine Rouse replaced the suspended Danny Ventre.

Daly’s seventh minute strike from outside the area looked like being the difference between the two sides as both teams struggled to dominate on a heavy Butcher’s Arms pitch.

The game changed in the second half with the home side losing three players to Injury: Sefton Gonzales to a pulled muscle almost straight after half time followed shortly after by both full backs, Ben Barber and Shaquille Clarke. Slowly the visitors began to dominate with Mike Coulson and Sam Hewitt going close.

The visitors equalised from the penalty spot after James Walshaw was adjudged to have been fouled with a quarter of an hour left, Coulson converting and four minutes later, Walshaw was put through to put the Seadogs in front before the same player made it three with six minutes left on the clock from an almost identical move which sent the visitors to joint top of the league.
