Girl attacked on canal path in Mossley

Greater Manchester Police are looking for a man after a teenage girl was attacked whilst walking down a canal path in Mossley.

At around 9:50PM on Wednesday 24 January Police were called to reports of an assault on the canal path opposite Three Counties Road.

According to reports on social media the girl had been hit with what was thought to be a dog lead.

She was taken to hospital for facial injuries but they were not serious.

Police are now trying to identify the man. He’s described as being of large build, wearing a black coat and walking a grey or brown Yorkshire Terrier.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to get in touch with Police on 101 quoting the incident number 2017 and the date 24/01/18.
