A Hyde nursery is holding a Christmas fair at the town hall this weekend to raise money for a local charity.

ABC Day Nursery is staging the event at the town hall (pictured) on Corporation Street on Saturday (December 9) between 11am and 1pm.

Nursery staff will be there, dressed up as elves, and Father Christmas will also be putting in an appearance. Local businesses have kindly donated prizes for a raffle and there will be face painting.

It’s all in aid of Tameside charity ‘Our Kids Eyes’.

Katherine Buxton, deputy manager at ABC Day Nursery, said: “The charity support families who have children with special educational needs.

“They give them relaxation, support their needs, organise discos, help them through the education system and support them through teaching.

“We decided that we wanted to donate to one charity this year. We asked parents to come up with suggestions and one parent chose ‘Our Kids Eyes’ which we picked out of the hat. We’re very behind it and want to raise as much money as possible for them.

“We’ve done lots of work for local charities and want to get to know as many people as possible, so this is the next step to do that. We’re really excited about the fair and would love to see as many people as possible there – the more the merrier.”
