Family of father, 30, killed in Hyde Road collision pay tribute

The family of a father-of-two from Haughton Green, killed in a collision in Belle Vue yesterday (Tuesday), have paid tribute to a ‘loving father, partner, son and brother’.

Michael Pilkington died when his Suzuki motorbike collided with a Peugeot 208 on Hyde Road, close to the junction with Redgate Lane, at around 7am.

Emergency services raced to the scene and attempted to treat the 30-year-old, who was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

Paying tribute to him, in a statement released via Greater Manchester Police, his family said: “Michael was a loving father to his beautiful son and daughter, partner to Jade, son to his parents John and Lindsay and brother to Natasha and Scott.

“We are struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of our beloved Michael and ask to be allowed to grieve as a family at this time.”
