Tameside Council’s Executive Leader, Cllr Kieran Quinn, is critically ill in hospital after suffering a heart attack yesterday (Saturday).

The Droylsden councillor was delivering Christmas cards with his wife and fellow Droyslden councillor, Susan Quinn, when it happened.

He will now spend the festive period at Tameside Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Tameside Council Deputy Leader, Cllr John Taylor, said, “Cllr Kieran Quinn, Executive Leader of Tameside Council, remains critically ill after his heart attack on Saturday December 23.

“However, I’m glad to say that the doctors have noted a small improvement in his condition. Kieran is receiving excellent medical care and is surrounded by his loving family; his wife Sue, his two sons and his brother.

“As I am sure you will all appreciate, this is an extremely difficult time for them. They are very close and had been looking forward to a happy Christmas together. All our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Any inquiries or messages of goodwill should be e-mailed via Cllr John Taylor; [email protected]

Everyone at the Tameside Reporter would like to wish Cllr Quinn a full and speedy recovery.
