Stalybridge Celtic have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper James Coates from Droylsden.

The shot-stopper joins Celtic ahead of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture at Warrington Town.

Despite being a permanent fixture in Droylsden’s first team last season, Coates has found game time difficult to come by this term. He has been replaced by Richie Brannagan in goal.

Joe Slinn, who joined Celtic on-loan from Port Vale, has been re-called by his parent club. The 18-year-old made 19 appearances during his time at Bower Fold. His last appearance came in the 2-0 loss at Sutton Coldfield Town last weekend.
