Tameside Christmas Toy Appeal official launch

MERRY CHRISTMAS: Santa arrives to help launch this year’s toy appeal and is interviewed by our very own ‘reindeer’ reporter Tom Greggan.

The Tameside Christmas Toy Appeal officially launched today at the Tameside Christmas Markets in Ashton – with Father Christmas himself arriving to help out.

The launch was aired live earlier today on Tameside Radio.

Local businesses have once again pledged their support kindly acting as drop off points for the collection of new toys especially for children in Tameside.

The toys will then go on to the borough’s children’s centres to be given to those families most in need this Christmas.

It is the third year Tameside 4 Good, the Tameside Reporter and Tameside Radio, plus Tameside Rotary and Tameside Council have all clubbed together to run the campaign.

Over the last few years many thousands of toys have generously been donated to the campaign making a huge difference at Christmas time for children living in poverty in Tameside.

Watch this space for more places acting as drop off points where you can donate new toys.

FESTIVE FUN: The Tameside Rotary team are fully behind this year’s appeal once again.
