In the Hyde & District Sunday League, reigning premier division champions Charlesworth FC were on the receiving end of an upset as they were beaten 4-2 by Organ Athletic. Organ raced into an early 3-0 lead before Charlesworth pegged it back to 3-2, but the 4th goal from Organ secured a vital 3 points. Harehill Tavern also dropped their first points of the season as they were held to a 3-3 draw by the Blazing Rag.

In Division One, Little Astley FC made it two wins on the bounce after a ropey start to their season. They narrowly edged the Sun Inn FC in a 7-goal thriller, taking all 3 points with a 4-3 victory.

In Challenge Cup action, the Premier Division’s Jolly Carter FC defeated Division One’s Brushes Rangers 3-1.

Commiserations to Shamrock FC who were eliminated from the Manchester FA County Shield at the quarter final stage. Despite dominating possession, costly errors resulted in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Hulme FC.
