Stalybridge Celtic has begun preparations to launch their first ladies academy team with a trial day set for next month.

Working in tandem with our education partner, Tameside College, Celtic will now offer the opportunity for girls aged between 16-18 the chance to play for the club.

Following the successful trials for Celtic’s academy boys side in the summer, Academy Head David Sullivan discussed how this is the next step for the club in their development.

He said: “It’s the next logical step for the club and the academy and it’s something we’re all very excited about.

“It gives girls between the ages of 16-18 the chance to get involved and play football at a high standard. With the excellent facilities we have on offer at Stockport Sports Village they will be able to gain valuable experience from our professionally trained coaches.

“They will be able to get diet and gym plans from myself and will be able to learn from our experienced coaches Keith Briggs and Carlo Nash.

He added: “We want every girl thinking about getting involved to get in touch with us. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain some valuable footballing experience and be trained at a high standard.”

If you are interested in registering for the trial day next month, Friday 17 November, please contact [email protected] or follow the official twitter feed @StalyCeltic_LAc and direct message.

Further details of the trial day will be posted on the clubs website and social media platforms over the coming weeks.
