Droylsden 2-0 Ossett Albion

Two second half goals saw the Bloods claim all three points at a wet and windy Butcher’s Arms.

Danny Ventre’s free kick fired low into the box alluded the visitors defence to cross the line in the 48th minute while a Ruben Jerome Cross was turned into his own net by Unicorns full back Declan Dawson under pressure from Shaun Holden with twenty minutes left.

The visitors had the better of the first half, Ritchie Branagan saving twice from Jason Price headers and should have pulled a goal back when Price hit the side netting after substitute Bates squared the ball.

But with conditions getting increasingly difficult in the second half for both teams the Bloods defence held firm despite the wind assisted onslaught from the visitors to claim the three points and move up to seventh in the table
