A local community group that provides social activities for adults with learning and physical disabilities celebrated their one year anniversary last week.

‘Ambitions’ was originally set up in Oldham seven years ago but branched out into Ashton last year. Last Tuesday, they held a disco at the Engine Rooms Pub, which featured live entertainment by Katie Koo and a hot buffet.

Chairman Jonathan Griffiths-Barnes said: “Myself, Stephanie and everyone at Ambitions would like to thank all our fantastic members, carers, parents and especially our wonderful volunteers, without whom there would be no Ambitions.

“We would also like to extend our thanks Andrew & Dianne, the previous Landlord & Landlady at the Engine Room Pub, who have been with us for most off the year.

“To our new Landlord Keith & Landlady Kristy, we would like to say a massive thank you for everything you did for us, and to the barmaid Cath, who is fantastic with our members, carers and committee even though this can be challenging at times.”
