A ‘violent’ convict who had absconded from prison in Cheshire has been found in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Carl Siddall fled from HMP Thorn Cross, an open prison, in Warrington on Saturday. He was released on temporary licence and had failed to return.

Police spent two days searching for the 33-year-old but he has now been discovered.

Officers from Cheshire Police thank the public for assisting with their enquiries.
