Oldham man “walked out” of prison

A manhunt is underway after an inmate from Oldham “walked out” of a prison in Preston.

Sean Gavin, 24, from Melrose Street in Failsworth was last seen at HMP Kirkham at around 7:15pm on Monday.

He’s currently serving a five year sentence for three counts of burglary and theft after being convicted at Manchester City Crown Court in March 2016.

Gavin is white, 5”6’ and of medium build with short brown hair and scars on his left leg, right arm and left arm.

As well as Sean Gavin, he also goes by the names Ryan Gavin and Sean Hill.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said warned people not to approach him but to report any information on his whereabouts to the police.
