Five injured in Saddleworth car collision

Fire -crews from the Major Rescue Unit based at Ashton seen above in training  to rescue a trapped motorist, were called upon to free two people from a vehicle in Saddleworth on Sunday Evening.

Two people had to be rescued by fire crews following a road traffic accident on Sunday evening in Saddleworth.

The incident happened at 9.30pm (September 3,) two fire engines from Oldham and a Technical Response Unit and a Major Rescue Unit from Ashton, attended the collision at the junction of Holmfirth Road and Hollins Lane, Saddleworth.

There were five casualties involved in total in the incident, including the two that were rescued by fire service personnel.

Firefighters remained at the scene for approximately one hour.
