Hyde’s classic car show motors back into the town centre this coming weekend on Saturday, September 9.

The autumn return of the popular biannual event will see the town once again brimming with thousands of pounds worth of classic and vintage cars from yesteryear.

For this event, Hyde Town Team has collaborated with local garage Rosemount MOT and Service Centre who are sponsoring the day and judging the entrants.

Over the years, visitors have loved the atmosphere created by the vintage vehicle extravaganza, organised by Hyde Town Team volunteers, who have again invited the Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club, to make a welcome return for the fourth year running.

The carefully created vintage fun starts at 10am on Saturday, September 9 and it’s expected that up to 25 British classic and international cars, motorcycles and other vehicles will be on display on the civic square where you can also buy or order your ‘Classic Car Event’ commemorative tee-shirts from the Town Team’s Gazebo.

Rosemount MOT & Service Centre will be on hand in the sponsor’s area to offer free advice and hand-out money-off discounts to anyone pre-booking MOT’s and Services.

Neil Openshaw, Chair of Hyde Town Team said: “The previous shows have been a great success and have been growing in popularity year on year.

“That’s why we decided to put on two classic car events again this year to enable visitors who may have missed the spring show to see again the cars our parents, grandparents and great grandparents’ used to drive!

“Hopefully, the weather will be kind and, for once, offer us a sunny September Saturday when visitors will also be able to visit all the shops, cafés and browse all the market stalls and attractions our town centre has to offer.”

The classic vehicles will be judged during the show by Rosemount’s owner Nick Hartley and Jonathan Reynolds, MP for Hyde and Stalybridge, who will present the prizes, with one proud owner picking up the prestigious ‘Car of the Show’ Trophy.

As many of Hyde’s local residents know, Rosemount is much more than just an MOT Centre.

The owner Nick Hartley and his team, offer a one stop solution to a wide range of motoring needs.

From Motor cycles and the smallest of family cars to the largest of builders vans such as a Luton box, or Mercedes Sprinters. Whatever you drive, Rosemount MOT & Service Centre has the experience, workshop capacity and mechanical capability to cater for them all. They can even test the largest Motor Homes!

The event starts from 10am and runs until 3pm with Tameside Radio’s Outside Broadcast crew reporting live from the show at various times throughout the event.

Entry to this amazing family day out, as always is free!
