With goals at a premium, Steve Burr sent out an attacking side at Lancaster on Bank Holiday Monday.

After hardly testing any keeper over the past three games, it was shots Celtic needed. They did manage five at the Giant Axe, none however found the net.

Lancaster weren’t the best side Celtic have faced this season, but again Celtic could not break them down and fell to their fifth straight defeat.

It was Lancaster’s first real effort on goal that proved pivotal. Scott Harries cut in from the wing, hit a shot that was well saved, but it was Slinn who pushed the effort onto the post. With Celtic’s luck running low, the ball bounced straight out to Kilfin who had an easy job of tapping home.

Celtic unfortunately looked toothless in attack yet again and Powell in the home goal had a fairly easy afternoon.

Making his first display of the season following injury, Paul Ennis came on to inject some impetus into the Celtic attack. That he did, twice seeing rasping efforts come close.

It is now five straight defeats and four games without a goal for Celtic.

With new faces on the horizon, Steve Burr and the management team at Bower Fold really need to find that winning formula soon.
