Curzon Ashton have announced that the East Manchester Junior Football League (EMJFL) are the new away kit sponsor for the 2017/2018 season.

The partnership between the club and EMJFL has grown steadily over the last eight or nine years, with the league moving their offices into the Tameside Stadium five years ago.

EMJFL now use the clubs 3G pitch every Saturday and Sunday morning the whole year round and hold their end of season cup finals over 5 weeks on the stadium pitch at the end of each season.

EMJFL CEO, John Clayton said: “As the biggest junior league in Manchester and one of the biggest in the country with over 8,000 players it seemed a natural progression to be involved as away shirt sponsors to spread the word to an even wider audience. ”

“We also work very closely with Curzon Ashton Football Development Officer and First Team Coach Mark Bradshaw and like to think that Curzon offer our players a pathway into non league football and to prove the point two young players who started their football journey in the EMJFL, Ollie Thornley and Matty Crothers, have, this year, earned their first contracts at Curzon and will feature prominently in John Flanagan’s first team plans.”

“As the EMJFL goes from strength to strength so does our partnership with Curzon Ashton and hopefully it will continue for many years to come. Finally from everyone connected with the EMJFL, players, coaches, referees and supporters we would like to wish Curzon Ashton all the very best for the new season and let’s hope the new away kit brings home plenty of points.”

Natalie Atkinson, Curzon Ashton’s Chief Executive commented: “For many years the East Manchester Junior League have been an integral part of our Curzon family, utilising our facilities to create pathways for young people to play football and creating volunteering opportunities. ”

“This is the next natural step to our partnership , the values of the league are the same as Curzon Ashton’s in terms of; family, fun and enjoyment.”

“I’m delighted to have the East Manchester Junior League onboard as our new away kit sponsor and I would like to thank all those involved.”

Curzon return to National League North action at Stockport County this evening.

John Flanagan’s side head into the clash on the back of a 4-0 victory over North Ferriby United on Saturday.

Victory leaves the club top of the table – the club’s highest league position in their 54 year history.
