Man arrested on suspicion of Murder released on bail

A 32 -year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder in Hyde on Wednesday (28/6/17) has been released from custody on police bail.

The man was arrested following the death of a 40 -year-old man whose body was discovered by an ambulance crew attending a flat  on Harbour Farm Road, Newton, Hyde, at around 6.00pm on Wednesday evening.

A post mortem is understood to have taken place  the following day to establish the exact cause of death, but is believed the man suffered multiple injuries.

Following the man’s death police carried out house to house enquiries in the area to assist in their investigation.

Speaking last week  Detective Inspector James Faulkner said: “We are doing everything we can to understand how this man came to his death and provide his family with the answers they deserve.

“A team of detectives have been working through the night and we currently believe the victim suffered a serious assault resulting in a number of injuries.
