Five men appear in court over series of burglaries

Five men have appeared at court in connection with 40 residential burglaries across Stockport and Derbyshire.

All the men appeared at Stockport Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday) and were remanded in custody.

Daniel Lloyd, 25, of Middlesex Road, was charged with conspiracy to burgle and possession of a controlled drug.

Aaron Sowter, 24, of Northumberland Road, was charged with conspiracy to burgle and possession of a controlled drug.

Wayne Hester, 21, of Lapwing Lane, was charged with conspiracy to burgle.

Christopher Hargreaves, 35, of Middlesex Road, was charged with conspiracy to burgle, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of a controlled drug.

Regan Harte, 18, of Morgan Place, was charged with conspiracy to burgle.

The men were arrested during raids yesterday morning (Thursday) at addresses in Brinnington and Reddish as part of an investigation into burglaries across Stockport and Derbyshire, including Glossop.

It’s thought that more than £500,000 worth of property, in particular expensive cars, has been stolen this year.
