Stalybridge Celtic manager Steve Burr has continued to build his squad ahead of the forthcoming season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Joining the club is versatile forward, Jake Charles.

Jake has previously played for Huddersfield Town and Barnsley, but most recently impressed while playing for Celtic in the 1-1 draw with the Terriers on Tuesday.

A Wales U21 international, Jake has also represented his country at U17 and U19 level.

According to Celtic’s official website, Jake follows in the footsteps of his grandfather John, who represented Wales, Leeds United and Juventus.

On the signing, Burr said he had fought off lots of National League and National League North clubs to get his signature, while adding: “He is young and hungry after being released by Barnsley and will be a great signing for Celtic”.
