Stalybridge Celtic manager Steve Burr has continued to build his squad ahead of the forthcoming season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

The latest additions to the squad are attacking midfielders Matty Wolfenden and Joe Garvin.

Wolfenden, 30, joins the club from FC United of Manchester, having played over 300 games and scoring 94 goals in the process.

Of the signing, Burr said: “Matty is a great signing. He brings in a lot of experience to our team, playing over 300 games for FC United, some at this level of football, which is key. He will also bring goals as an added option up front.”

Garvin, 27, lists Stockport County and Colne as his previous clubs.

Burr said he was delighted with the signing, while adding: “He’s a left sided player, useful across many positions. He has impressed me greatly this pre-season and has experience at this level and above.”
