Stalybridge St Paul’s picked up a welcome nine wicket victory against High Lane on Saturday.

Rob Mallett and Chris Fish claimed three wickets each for Stalybridge as High Lane were bowled out for 168.

The target never really challenged Stalybridge and they cruised to victory with the loss of one wicket and 11 overs to spare, thanks in no small part to Phil Hammond and Mike Hatton who scored 55 and 62 respectively.

Elsewhere, the second team’s unbeaten run came to an end at High Lane with an eight wicket loss, although their brilliant form during the first half of the season still leaves them in first spot.

This weekend sees the first team host Offerton, while the seconds make the journey to the same outfit.

In other news, the first XI will face Dinting Bissenden Cup semi-final on Sunday, July 16.
