Tameside will be celebrating the United Nations International Day of Yoga next week.

To mark the special occasion, a group of members from the Manchester & District Institute of Iyengar Yoga will be holding a demonstration outside Wendy & Mandy’s Cafe on Ashton Market.

It will take place from 12:30pm until around 3pm on Wednesday June 21.

They will be pleased to answer any questions people may have about yoga and hope to inspire them to try Iyengar Yoga.

Last year’s demonstration was very well received by the public and apparently a few of the staff from the cafe have said they will be trying some of the more simple, basic poses this time.

Also, there will be free classes on offer for those wishing to experience the world-renowned method of Iyengar Yoga, which is considered a great way to keep fit and healthy.

Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga in which there is a focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the development of asanas.
