Mossley Football Club have announced the signing of three players ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The Lilywhites have confirmed the signing of midfielder Elliot Harrison, striker Liam Ellis, and captain Tom Dean.

Harrison re-joins the club having impressed while on-loan from FC Halifax Town towards the end of last season.

The 20-year-old scored seven times in six appearances during his short stint at Seel Park.

Speaking to Reporter Sport, Band said he was delighted to have Harrison back: “Elliot’s got a great engine on him and he scored two goals in his last two appearances for us.”

Dean, a centre-back, re-joins the club for a fifth successive season.

A former Macclesfield Town player, Dean made 35 appearances last season, and subsequently won the Managers’ Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year trophies.

The 25-year-old, who scored three goals last season, also picked up the Dennis Cawthorne Memorial trophy.

Band said he had no hesitation about giving Dean the armband when Andy Keogh left, while adding: “Tom’s getting better as each season passes and we feel he is one of the best centre-halves in the league.”

Ellis signs for the club having joined from Chadderton in February.

A former youth player with Manchester City, Ellis made ten appearances for the club last season, scoring one goal in the process. Band said: “Ellis is a big, strong pacey forward, who scored the winner against Glossop which secured our safety.

“I’m looking forward to working with him in pre-season training.”
