Man arrested after seven hour stint on roof top

The man who placed himself on the roof of a row of terraced houses on Well Meadow, Hyde has come safely to the ground, assisted by emergency services using a hydraulic lift seen in the photo

The man left the roof of his own accord at approximately 3.00 pm with the aid of a GMFRS hydraulic lift after spending seven hours on the roof  top of a row of terraced houses..
It is understood that the man was wanted by police before the incident began at around 8.00 am this morning and climbed onto the roof in a bid to evade capture as officers arrived to arrest him.

A police source said there were no reports of injuries to members of the public  or any of the emergency services.

Well Meadow and several roads around the area were closed off but are now back to normal.

Traffic diversions in place around Well Meadow, due to the incident have now been lifted.
