Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signings of midfielder Greg Wilkinson and defender Lee Neville ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Wilkinson re-joins the squad having spent time at Altrincham and FC United last year.

The 27-year-old scored 17 times in 166 appearances during his last spell at Bower Fold.

Meanwhile, Neville has joined from Trafford FC, along with Aaron Burns and Andrew Langford.

Manager Steve Burr has also signed Lassana Mendes.

The 24-year-old midfielder joins the club having previously captained Radcliffe Borough during a number of games throughout last season.

His efforts were recognised at the clubs end of season awards night, picking up the Players’ Player of the Season.

Mendes joins a growing list of players to have signed for the club, including defender Adam Jones, midfielder Gary Gee, and striker Charlie Ennis.

Manager Steve Burr said he was delighted to have signed Ennis, adding: “Charlie is well known to the football club following a number of stints here over the years. He did well under Keith (Briggs) when he was managing here a few seasons ago.”

Burr was equally as delighted to have signed Gee for another season. He said: “He impressed me over the short period I was at the club at the end of last season.

He picked up an injury towards the end of the season, but we’ll be getting the best out of him in the coming season.”
