There were four offences committed in the early evening of 15th May  alone all in the Ashton and Stalybridge area of Tameside.

A number of the offences have been violent , damage has been caused to a number of vehicles and some of the vehicles have been stolen.

As a result of extensive enquiries six suspects were arrested on the 17th of May these include five juveniles and one male adult.

All the suspects have been interviewed and have now been been released on  bail, investigations are still ongoing and police are following up a number of lines of Enquiry.

Tameside licensing officers have been assisting the taxi and takeaway drivers throughout the period of  time involving the robberies.

Despite the arrests police are appealing for witnesses to any of the offences or anyone who may have information regarding the offenders.

Police are also urging taxi drivers and takeaway delivery drivers to be extra vigilant and ensure they can identify their customers prior to any attendance.
