Clarendon Sixth Form College’s BTEC Photography students have collaborated with Manchester Museum for the ‘Unveiling South Asia: Journey to Manchester’ exhibition.

The students were commissioned to create images in response to Manchester Museum’s South Asia collection, in advance of the new permanent South Asia gallery which is due to open in 2020.

The images taken by the students were shot in colour, digitally and within the studio exploring the connections between South Asia and Manchester.

The resulting images reflect the students’ personal, political and contemporary responses to explored links between South Asia and Manchester, through a diverse range of styles and concepts.

Whilst visiting the museum to see their work, photography students were given the opportunity to visit the ‘After the Bees’ exhibition, which has been produced by former Clarendon Sixth Form College student, Megan Powell.

The ‘Unveiling South Asia: Journey to Manchester’ exhibition will be displayed until the end of May at Manchester Museum.
