Compstall 343 for 6    Stalybridge St Paul’s 133 all out

Stalybridge St Paul’s were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat by Compstall on Saturday

Compstall won the toss and chose to bat first, and Stalybridge never recovered from a speedy start, with Compstall smashing the ball to all parts in compiling 343 for 6 from their 45 overs

Such a score was always going to be beyond Stalybridge as only Stuart Barnes (32), Phil Hammond (26) and Khalid Akram (23) made real contributions with Stalybridge bowled out for 133

Stalybridge 2nds were involved in another nail-biting 1 wicket win vs Compstall as they chased down 139 with 2 balls to spare. Pete Coxon picked up 4 wickets before a superb 46 not out from Mike Hatton saw Stalybridge sneak home

This week Stalybridge 1st play at away at Birch Vale with the 2nds at home to the same opponents.
