Famous sportswear retailer JD Sports has moved premises in Ashton, opening up a brand new store in the Arcades.

The new store opened last Sunday (7 May) after relocating from the nearby Ladysmith Centre.

Landlords of the Shopping Centre, Fairacre, bought the Arcades in 2015 and secured the addition of independently owned café, BAP.

The arrival of JD and BAP are part of the wider development plants for the Centre, with both lettings having brought new job opportunities for local residents to join the teams and a new product offer.

The newly furbished store will be open to the public in a ground floor unit in the Arcades Shopping Centre from Sunday 7th May, in conjunction with the Centre’s ‘Eat and Greet’ event with magical Disney sisters, Elsa and Anna.

James Air, Acquisitions Surveyor at JD Sports said: “JD is delighted to be investing in a full offer new store within the Arcades, bringing our latest store concept to Ashton.”

Centre Manager, Lynne Picken, added: “We are pleased to be welcoming JD Sports into the Centre. The Arcades is now the dominant town centre shopping centre with extensive parking on offer for shoppers. The Centre has seen some great changes in the past 12 months.”
