A creepy crawlies-themed party at Clarendon Square saw 90 children from Hyde having an unbee-lievably good time at the centre’s Happy Hyders Kids’ Club.

Children and visitors to the shopping centre were treated to a day of free games, story-telling and craft workshops based on all things insect.

The event also included a bumble bee party hosted by Queen Bee and the Bug Detective, who brought even the shyest of children out of their shell to take part in some bug boogie dancing.

“There was a great buzz in the place and that wasn’t just down to all the bees made during the craft session,” said Paula Wood, Centre Manager at Clarendon Square.

“Our Happy Hyders and their families really got stuck into learning all the insect rhymes and we saw some brilli-ant dance moves too.”

The little mites also listened to the Bug Detective reading the popular story, Twist & Hop Mini Beast Bop, by Tony Mitton, and everyone who attended was given a goodie bag with sweets and treats to enjoy after the fun-filled day.

Paula added: “The club has been a great success since its launch last October and it’s been lovely to see so many children and families taking part in the activities and spending quality time together. We’re looking forward to having a ton of kids’ club fun again when Happy Hyders returns.”
