Hyde United midfielder Big Khamsuk has agreed a contract extension until the end of next season.

Having forged his way into the first team under manager Darren Kelly, Big has become a fans favourite at Ewen Fields after scoring eight times in 37 appearances.

Renowned for his trickery and attacking threat, Big was part of a squad which embarked on a magnificent run in 2017 which lost just twice in the space of four months.

Upon announcing his decision to stay at the club, Big said: “”I am really happy to sign to stay at Hyde and look forward to next season. I have developed a lot since the start of last season and enjoyed helping the team & scoring some goals as we pushed up the table.”

Manager Kelly and assistant David McGurk said: “Big has been a star performer over the past six or seven months.

“He has a professional approach to training and games, and an unbelievable work rate on the field, working hard defensively as well as giving us some real quality in attack, along with adding goals in the second half of the season. He will only improve over the coming season.”

Meanwhile, CEO Mark Worthington said the youngster is on a steep upward path in terms of his performances, while adding: “Big has been with us since he was 14 years old, and continues to develop and improve every year.

“I believe he will ultimately play in the professional game if he continues to work hard and learn from the staff and players around him.”

Big joins a growing list of players to have committed their futures to the club, including Paddy Miller, Matt Beadle, Kyle Harrison and Pete Boyle.
