Tameside College is the first college in the North West to receive the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) accreditation award for outstanding plumbing and heating training and facilities.

The CIPHE is the only body that offers individual recognition for plumbing and heating qualifications and supports professional members with the best technical expertise in the industry, nationally.

The presentation was made at the college’s site on Beaufort Road in Ashton by CIPHE president Paul Williams.

Jackie Moores, Principal of Tameside College, said: “It is a real honour to be the first college in the North West to be officially accredited as a CIPHE approved training centre.

“We take pride in developing our professional course offering, working with industry experienced staff and ensuring we provide the latest technology to ensure that our courses are best suited for students.

“The construction industry has currently got a huge demand for skilled professionals in various trades, especially in plumbing and this accreditation sets us apart as a training provider as it shows we are committed to providing the best plumbers and plumbing training to meet industry needs.

“We look forward to welcoming more students through our doors in September as a CIPHE accredited training centre.”
