Mossley FC are inviting fans to cast their votes for the club’s Supporters’ Player and Goal of the Season awards.

It’s been a tough campaign for Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison’s side, who are languish third from bottom in 20th position in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

But there have still been a number of memorable moments and stand-out performers in 2016/17 which are worth recognition.

Every player which has represented the club at least 10 times this season is up for the star player accolade – including Tom Pratt, who is the club’s leading scorer following the mid-season departures of Mike Fish and Andy Keogh to Brighouse Town and Trafford respectively.

While, of the 62 league goals they have netted so far this season, six have been shortlisted as contenders for the strike of the season, although the club say fans can come up with their own favourite goal as well.

Kyle McGonigle v Stalybridge Celtic (Home)
Mossley were awarded a free kick just inside the Celtic half. With players of both sides lining the edge of the box anticipating a deep cross, McGonigle spotted McMillan out of position and rifled a fierce shot from fully 45 yards that left the keeper floundering to score a remarkable goal.

Callum Warburton v Hyde United (Away)
Warburton met the ball some 35 yards out and rifled an unstoppable shot into the roof of the Hyde net.

Matty Burke v Ramsbottom United (Away)
Burke acrobatically volleyed home to equalise from 25 yards after John Bennett’s driven left-wing cross had been headed clear into his path.

Mason Duffy v Droylsden (Home)
Substitute Duffy curled home an absolute beauty from Keogh’s delicate pass but it was too little too late and Droylsden held on to take the points.

Tom Pratt v Ossett Albion (Away)
Pratt burst into the box and fed Mason in the right channel. Mason crossed low and Pratt rifled in an unstoppable shot from eight yards.

Tom Dean v Goole (Away)
The equaliser finally arrived as the game entered the 90th minute. Mossley won a right wing corner from which Tom Pratt’s high out-swinger found Tom Dean rising above the Goole defence to fire home a powerful header from the edge of the box to pull the Lilywhites back on level terms.
