Man left in critical condition after Ashton motorbike crash

A 24-year-old motorcyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries after crashing his motorbike in Ashton on Monday.

Just before 1.40pm, the rider collided with a kerb at the junction of Kings Road and Weymouth Road. Both he and he Kawasaki ER650 motorbike collided with a wall, leaving him with serious head injuries.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Police Constable Paul Shore, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and we still need to establish exactly what has happened here.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or perhaps saw the motorcycle travelling in the build-up to the collision, to get in touch with us as soon as possible. You could hold vital information.”
