Tintwistle Athletic 1st team were back in league action this weekend as they won 6-3 away to Moston Brook on Saturday.
Tintwistle went 1-0 down early on, when a clearance from keeper Ant Rodrigues hit the Moston striker and the ball fell kindly for him to tap in. Athletic equalised after half an hour, when Chris Wyche headed in from a corner. Tintwistle then went ahead soon after, as a free kick from Tom Burns bounced back off the crossbar for Jonny Higgins to slot home. Moston then scored from the resulting kick off however, as a lofted through ball found the home striker, who calmly finished to make it 2-2.
Tintwistle started the second half much better and soon regained the lead after a cool finish from debutant George Clarey. Wyche added another to make it 4-2 with a second header from a corner. Clarey then scored a further two goals to complete a second half hat-trick, both times after he was pulled down in the area, he stepped up to convert the penalties. The home side pulled a goal back late on to make it 6-3.
