Professional middleweight boxer Matty Mainwaring is looking to extend his unbeaten run to five consecutive victories on Friday at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester.

The 26-year-old is set to face off against the vastly experienced Chris Jenkinson, who has racked up 53 bouts since joining the professional ranks in 2011.

A 33-year-old middleweight from Bolton, Jenkinson enters the clash on the back of a TKO loss to Jack Sellars in February, while Mainwaring enters the ring in high spirits having won all five of his fights on points’ decisions.

A former footballer for Hyde United and Stalybridge Celtic, Mainwaring swapped the pitch for the ring in 2014 and has since made a flawless start to a promising career.

The hard hitter has overcome tough opponents in Victor Edagha, Tommy carter, Liam Griffiths and Yailton Neves, but now has his sights set on extending that run against Jenkinson on Friday.
