Guide Bridge Station where a young woman threatened to throw herself onto the rail tracks yesterday 16/2/17

 

 

Officers from British Transport Police were able to dissuade a young woman from jumping onto the tracks at Guide Bridge Railway Station yesterday.

Police were called to Guide Bridge Railway StationĀ at 2.27pm on Thursday 16 February following reports of a person threating to jump onto the tracks.

The incident is believed to have been ongoing for over three hours with Paramedics also in attendance.

Following careful negotiations a 22-year-old woman was taken to a place of safety and happily the whole incident ended without injury.

There were reports of heavy traffic congestion in the area during the course of the police operation, it is not known to what extent rail services were interrupted.
