With Darren Kelly away for the weekend on family business, Dave McGurk & Gareth Prendergast took the helm with the chance to continue the winning run and make it an undefeated February.

Hyde started well and had the chance to take an early lead inside 5 minutes when Lawrance Hunter ran through and hit the top of the crossbar from 12 yards. Five minutes later and Matthew Beadle held up the ball well in the box before setting it back for Big Khamsuk who blazed his right footed shot over the bar.

On 18 minutes Big made up for his earlier effort by running on to a through ball, showing great strength to hold off his man, driving into the box and squaring the ball to give the goal machine Beadle his ninth goal in nine games.

The rest of the half had Hyde dominating but failing to carve out any clear cut opportunities against a hard working Burscough side.

The second half had the Tigers playing with a bit more purpose and they could have stretched their lead through Jamal Banker and Harry Coates who were both clean through, but fired high and wide.

Burscough had shown in their last game that they don’t give up, scoring late to earn a 1-1 at Brighouse, and the Tigers failure to get a second gave them confidence, and they enjoyed a period of 10 minutes in the middle of the half when they were equal to the task.

Hyde rolled on three substitutes in Pete Boyle, Ayrton Bevins and Chris Sutherland, and it was the latter who looked sharp and direct, winning a penalty when he moved the ball quickly and was chopped down inside the box. Sutherland stepped up and calmly fired down the centre of the goal as the keeper dived right.

In the final five minutes Bevins hit the bar and Boyle fired a left foot shot just wide.
