Man loses battle for life on Valentine’s Day

A 66-year-old man lost his battle for life on Valentine’s Day after being involved in a collision with a car a month ago.

The man, who has not yet been named by police, was involved in a collision with a black BMW 5 series car as he crossed the road on Park Parade near Asda in Ashton at 8.05pm on Sunday, January 15.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly he died yesterday on Tuesday, February 14.

Police Constable Phillip Turley, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family at this time and we are offering them the support of specially trained officers.
