Following years of steady success at Surrey Street, Glossop North End have appointed a new Commercial Manager.

The club have recruited the expertise of chartered engineer, Craig Jackson.

Following the appointment, Glossop chairman, Dave Atkinson said: ““We think that Glossop can support a thriving football club in the Evostik Northern Premier League.

“This would put us at the same level as clubs like Buxton, Matlock and Ashton United. We have great support but we need to strengthen the financial and commercial base of the club. ”

Born in Glossop, Craig is a Chartered Engineer currently based in Manchester.

He joins the Hillmen having been involved in numerous multi-million pound projects across the north West in both the public and private sectors.

As well as serving on the club committee, Craig has also spent the previous 11 years managing various teams in the Glossop Juniors set up.

One of his two sons also had the privilege of being a mascot during Glossop’s FA Vase Final appearance in 2009.

Commenting on his relationship with the club, Craig said: “As my sons grow up, joining the seniors feels like a natural progression to continue my involvement in the local footballing community.

“With my business background, I feel sure that I can work with the board, the manager and players, and the supporters to help the club achieve its potential.”
