Curzon Ashton return to National League North action this evening against Worcester City at the Tameside Stadium.

The Nash enter the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat at AFC Telford Utd, while Worcester were held to a 0-0 draw against FC United on home soil.

Both Curzon and Worcester have struggled this season and currently find themselves in 16th and 17th position respectively.

Tonight’s clash will mark the first time that the sides have met in league competition this season, although Worcester did run out 2-1 winners in the FA Trophy at the end of November.

The game also marks the first time that John Flanagan’s side have competed at the Tameside Stadium since the 1-0 victory over Harrogate Town on Saturday 17 December.

Although there is little between the sides in terms of points this season, Curzon will enter the game as favourites given current league form.

John Flanagan’s side have collected four wins from their previous seven league games, while Worcester have picked up just three points from seven and haven’t won a league encounter since Saturday 12 November against AFC Telford Utd.

Although tonight’s result won’t necessarily shape the outcome of Curzon’s season, a victory would be ideal given the end of January that awaits them.

The Nash have tough tests against Darlington 1883 and league leaders AFC Fylde, before concluding the month with a re-arranged home clash against relegation threatened Stalybridge Celtic.

Tonight’s game is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm.
