Police have released a CCTV image after a robbery at a convenience store in Audenshaw.

At around 9.20pm on November 27 last year, police were called to Denton Road following reports of a robbery at the Ali Convenience Store.

It is believed the offender spent 20 minutes looking around the store asking questions, during which time several customers purchased items.

Once the customers had left, the offender assaulted a member of staff and produced a knife before demanding money and fleeing the scene with an amount of cash.

The victim suffered minor injuries from the attack and was very shaken by the incident.

Detective Constable Claire Robinson, of GMP’s Tameside Borough, said: “This was a terrifying assault for the victim to go through while he was at work.

“I am asking anyone who recognises the man in the photo to please get in touch. Equally, if you were a customer in the store before the robbery, we need to hear from you.”
