The Tameside Macmillan Cancer Unit fundraising appeal has created their own take on the festive song ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’.

The Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support, who are collaborating to create the new purpose-built centre at Tameside Hospital, have released the video in the hope it will raise further awareness of the campaign during the festive period.

The appeal, which aims to reach £1.8 million, has surpassed £600,000 and was launched earlier this year to raise enough funds to build the unit, which will bring vital cancer treatment and support under one roof for the first time for people affected by cancer across Tameside and Glossop.

The video highlights the kind of work they do for their patients, naming the different job roles they have in their unit, as well as throughout the hospital, which include dedicated doctors and nurses.

It also refers to the brilliant therapists that are always there for their patients, volunteers that generously give their free time to help out when and where they can, and the physiotherapists that do amazing work to give patients their independence back.

Throughout the five-minute video, the recurring theme is patients and how they are central to the work done at the hospital.
