A house in Ashton St Michael’s has been damaged after a cannabis farm caught fire.

The fire caused damage to the roof of the property and Greater Manchester Police say it was lucky that more damage wasn’t caused. The majority of the damage was contained to the house where the cannabis farm was located and nobody was injured.

“Cannabis farms are dangerous,” a post by GMP Tameside North said on Facebook, “If you believe there is a cannabis farm on your street then you can contact Crimestoppers annonymously and in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
