By Mark Worthington:

This was a solid performance by a girls team who continue to grow in confidence as they develop their game understanding.

With nine of the girls now full time, the squads fitness and training are really starting to pay dividends.

Setting up in a 4-1-4-1 formation the girls completely dominated the opening 45 minutes against a Bury side who beat them 4-2 at the beginning of October.

With Phoebe Jo Mellor and Amy Ellis Wood in midfield Tameside controlled the ball and spent long periods in the Bury defensive third with only the final pass letting them down and the excellent Bury keeper keeping them out.

The second half was also controlled by Tameside although Bury set up to hit them on the break and enjoyed a little more success, but with Bryony Harper able to outpace the Bury forwards they looked secure, and when they did get through they found Chloe Dunn in the Tameside goals, and she is without doubt the best and most improved keeper in the league.

On 70 minutes Tameside changed formation into a 4-4-2, moving Bryony forward and they immediately got their reward. In Amy Ellis Wood Tameside have a footballing gem, and she capped an outstanding performance with a well taken goal, running on to a ball into the box before finishing expertly into the bottom right of the goal past the Bury keeper.

Ten minutes later Tameside doubled their lead when Bryony was tripped in the box, allowing Emily Taggart to place the ball and fire it home to the keepers left.

Back to back wins for this amazing group of girls who continue to learn and improve with every game. They show what can be achieved when you are given the opportunity, along side competition for places and a willingness to learn.
