Hyde United were eliminated from the Manchester Premier Cup on Tuesday after falling to defeat to Salford City on penalties.

The game ended 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes, thus forcing a round of penalties which Salford subsequently won 3-1.

As for the game itself, Hyde opened the scoring through Pete Boyle in the 6th minute, before Matthew Warburton equalised in the 12th minute.

Despite the league difference between the two sides – The Tigers compete two steps lower than Salford – Hyde managed to take a two goal lead before the interval.

Adam Jones struck in the 23rd minute, before Boyle notched his second on the stroke of half-time.

However, Salford responded well after the break and reduced the arrears through Warburton in the 52nd minute, before Jordan Hulme grabbed the equaliser in the last minute.
