Former Audenshaw School pupil Zach Clough helped Bolton Wanderers to another victory in League One at Northampton Town on Saturday.

The 21-year-old notched his seventh goal of the season in the 1-0 victory which pushes Wanderers to second in the table.

A string of noteworthy performances saw Clough rewarded with the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for October.

Clough was also nominated in the Goal of the Year category at this year’s North West Football Awards, alongside Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and winning candidate Paul Gallagher of Preston North End.

Bolton return to action this weekend when they host Sheffield United in the FA Cup Second Round at the Macron Stadium on Sunday.
