Shelter seeking donations to maintain animal care

Tameside Animal Shelter are seeking amenities for the animals they look after, and are asking for donations from local people.

The shelter, which has been helping animals in the borough since 2001, needs tinned or pouched wet food for cats or kittens, and are also running low on cat litter.

There is an appeal for kitten food especially as there are still many mums and kitten mouths to feed even at this time of year and could lead into next year.

Gareth Lloyd, the manager of Tameside Animal Shelter, said: “We have set up this appeal as we have many cats at different stages of development. “The public can donate directly to the shelter through our shop or they can set up a PayPal account to create a standing order.”

Donations of clothing, electrical goods and furniture are also being accepted, and can be dropped off to the shop on Reynold Street in Hyde.
